Solar Water Heating

Solar Water heating uses the power of the sun to heat your water for years and years for free. The second largest energy user in the home, heating your water, no longer costs anything.

The basic principles of solar water heating are easy to grasp: Unroll a garden hose and lay it out in the sun. After a while the water in the hose will get hot. Thermal collectors work on the same principle, only much more efficiently. A special fluid non-toxic fluid is heated within the solar collectors (solar panels) to a temperature of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and pumped into a heat tank. This fluid then heats your water to be used in your home or business.

This heat is then "stored" in a specially designed and insulated domestic hot water tank. Solar thermal systems can also be integrated into boilers to reduce the overall natural gas, oil or propane that you use during winter and other seasons. Use the sun to reduce your hot water heating bill as well as your whole heating bill.
